‘Extraordinarily high level’: Club replace £4.5m Rangers newbie with a very familiar move

Once again, FC Nordsjaelland has shopped in a well-known market in an attempt to find another Right to Dream graduate who will be

moving to Denmark to replace Mohamed Diomande, the January signing by Rangers.

The player who might replace Mohamed Diomande in Denmark shortly possesses the same qualities that made the Ivorian standout

during his mid-season move to Ibrox, where he has already scored two goals

in his first four Scottish Premiership appearances.

Nordsjaelland accepted a bid worth around £4.5 million for Diomande last month. And the Superligaen outfit have wasted little time

bringing in another left footed, all-action midfielder from the Ghana-based Right to Dream academy,

Araphat Mohammed unveiled on Wednesday after obtaining his work permit.

“Araphat is a player who possesses some elite skills at an exceptionally high caliber,” says technical director Alexander Riget of

Nordsjaelland. “He is quite strong in duels and has an excellent left foot.

“Araphat can play on the wing, but in his childhood, he has mostly played centrally in the field.

We think he’s a player with a lot of promise.

Riget’s comments will feel familiar to Rangers supporters who have watched on in awe as Diomande – alongside fellow January

recruit Oscar Cortes – takes Scottish football by storm. Both players scored in Saturday’s 5-0 thrashing of Hearts, Diomande getting

the rout underway with a fizzing shot from the edge of the box with his trusty left boot.

Furthermore, considering Nordsjaelland’s history of introducing Right to Dream grads to Scandinavia (having given Brighton’s Simon

Adingra and West Ham’s Mohamed Kudus significant breakthroughs),

don’t be shocked if Araphet’s name appears in the gossip sections soon.

Can Nordsjaelland continue their trend?

“It truly demonstrates how excellent our international academies are when we are able to bring a player to FC Nordsjaelland again through the support of Right to Dream,” Riget continues.

“We eagerly anticipate Araphat’s development.”

Meanwhile, Diomande is quickly proving to be one of the most inspiring additions to the Rangers in a while, bringing new energy and

vitality to an aging and one-paced engine room with his skill, drive, and long-range shooting.

The manager of the Gers, Philippe Clement, is fully aware that Diomande’s path is unlikely to end at Ibrox and believes the rookie will

rise to the pinnacle of the European game. Who knows, maybe Araphet will eventually replace him in Scotland as well.
