With the Kansas City Chiefs winning their second consecutive Super Bowl, the team’s goal during the NFL offseason

will be to retain their roster intact while adding some additional pieces to the championship puzzle in an effort to complete a three-peat.

One of the more significant pieces of that puzzle is cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, who will seek a long-term contract with the team this offseason.

The Chiefs are reportedly considering using their franchise tag on Sneed, but if the team and the standout cornerback are unable to reach an agreement, a trade might be in the works, with plenty of interested parties expected on the trade market.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the goal is to move Sneed if they can’t agree on a long-term contract, via Ari Meirov.

In 16 regular-season games with the Chiefs in 2023, Sneed had two interceptions, a career-high 14 passes defensed, one fumble recovery, and 60 solo tackles.

Losing Sneed would be a costly blow to the Chiefs’ secondary, so the organization will almost surely try to work out a deal, with star defensive tackle Chris Jones hoping to cash in once more now that he is a free agency.

Needless to say, the Chiefs have a lot of work to do this offseason in order to get this club back on the field next season while also hoping improving on both sides of the ball.
