Chris Jones shares a hilarious story about his 40-yard dash.

Chris Jones of the Kansas City Chiefs is one of the NFL’s best pass rushers, having played a critical role in the team’s three Super Bowl victories over the last five seasons.

He is due for a significant contract extension that will keep him in town for at least a few more years, and at the age of 29, he appears to have plenty of game left.

However, at the NFL Scouting Combine in 2016, he experienced an unpleasant accident while completing the 40-yard dash, which he just revisited, according to “New Heights” via Dov Kleiman.

In essence, Jones arrived sporting a ridiculous pair of pants.

Jones ran the 40-yard dash in 5.03 seconds, dropping him to the second round, where Kansas City selected him.

It took him a few years to break out, but in 2019, he recorded 15.5 sacks, 29 quarterback hits, and 19 tackles for loss, earning him his first trip to the Pro Bowl.

Not ironically, that was the season that the Chiefs won their first world championship under Patrick Mahomes.

Jones produced 10.5 sacks, 29 quarterback hits, and 13 tackles for loss in 2023, despite missing training camp to negotiate a contract deal.He eventually agreed to a one-year contract in time for Week 2, and the organization is rumored to be working on a long-term agreement.

The Chiefs won far more on defense in 2023 than they had in previous years, so keeping Jones and cornerback L’Jarius Sneed is critical to their prospects of winning more rings in the coming years.
