Top European team returns with a tempting six-figure bid for £12,000k Rangers star

During the January transfer window, it appeared that Rangers were about to lose Ridvan Yilmaz to Galatasaray.

The Ibrox supporters have grown accustomed to the 22-year-old Turkish international being marketed back to his native country in the Istanbul press.

This time, however, things felt very different, with stories of rejected bids and Rangers’ valuation not being fulfilled by a stubborn Gala board.

However, after a failed move, if the Turks come calling again in the summer,

Galatasaray may expect a boost in Rangers’ Ridvan Yilmaz’s valuation.

Rangers were wanting roughly £4 million in January, according to the Turkish press. It must be more than double that presently.

Ridvan Yilmaz emerges as the first choice for Rangers.

Ridvan Yilmaz, who had emerged as Rangers’ first-choice left-back under Philippe Clement,

put in another spectacular performance in the 5-0 triumph over Hearts.

What the little wing-back lacks in stature, he more than compensates for with his rushed, aggressive, pressing approach,

which is supported with quality in the final third.

Ridvan Yilmaz not only gets into the opposing half – and back into the Rangers one – but when he does,

his possession is of high quality and backed up with urgency.

The kid is also slowly improving his crossing, as he whipped in a series of wonderful balls that Rangers could have finished to add gloss to the scoreline.

Ridvan did not shy away from attacking the ball in the air during the weekend, however.

While few Rangers players can deny that they have found form and confidence under Clement,

Yilmaz’s rise has been particularly notable.

Galatasaray must cough up for the Ibrox left-back.

Rangers fans who had predicted Yilmaz’s departure due to links to Brazilian left-back Jefte are now overjoyed that he has stayed.

Rangers signed Ridvan Yilmaz in the summer of 2022, and it has taken them nearly 18 months to see what he has to give,

and they are extremely pleased with what they have seen.

Rangers fans are no longer as amenable to the left-back’s departure as they once were.

With Borna Barisic out of contract in the summer and the aforementioned Jefte allegedly resuming his role as a target in June,

Ridvan Yilmaz is currently the Rangers’ left-back.

And if Galatasaray, or anyone else, truly wants a piece of the Turkish international,

eight figures is just the beginning of what the Ibrox side will be demanding.
