Philippe Clement Confirms Rangers Key Player Transfer Admission At Ibrox.

Philippe Clement has admitted that Mohamed Diomande is too skilled to stay at Rangers for the long term.

Rangers signed Diomande from FC Nordsjaelland on an initial loan in the January transfer window,

with the option to buy in the summer.

The 22-year-old midfielder has impressed in his five games, most recently in a 5-0 triumph over Hearts,

but Clement believes he will move on one day.

“Diomande is a high-potential player, and I don’t think Rangers will be his last stop,

” Clement remarked during Tuesday’s (27 February) press conference, as reported by the Rangers’ Twitter account.

“He has talent and the right mentality to work for the team and those are the things you are looking for.”

When asked if Diomande “can reach the top,” Clement replied: “I think so.”

Mohamed Diomande likely to sign four-year deal with Rangers.

Diomande has already scored a couple of spectacular goals since joining from Nordsjaelland for an estimated £4.5

million.

In actuality, nothing was known about the Ivorian before he was linked last month.

We were informed he could play different midfield positions and had a good eye for goal, which he has demonstrated

in his first few weeks at Ibrox.

Diomande is under contract with the Gers until 2028, so if he leaves in the next few years, it will most certainly be

for a large fee.

The club has stated unequivocally that this is now their preferred transfer strategy, and that it is a long-term viable

method.

Selling Diomande, however, is certainly not on anyone’s mind at this time, not least because he is not even our player

yet.As with any signing, the ideal scenario is to get multiple good years out of a player before moving on for a profit.

That is no different from Diomande, and Clement has been upfront and honest about it.
