Celtic sign a free agent who is “unbelievable”…

Celtic’s inability to find a player either in the transfer window or within their own squad to replace Reo Hatate has been a bugbear of mine all season.

Brendan Rodgers has tried and failed to replace that void with the players he has at his disposal since the Japanese midfielder suffered an injury earlier this season.

David Turnbull tried, and while he contributed to goals, he could not match Hatate’s dynamism.

Odin Thiago Holm shows promise, but he is still a raw player who is still learning the game.

Paulo Bernardo has also been played in that manner, but he has yet to establish himself as a midfield regular.

Finally, Tomoki Iwata was drafted this weekend, but the Japan international has failed to find playing time despite the obvious midfield concerns.

However, there is a player who could be available in the summer and could solve Rodgers’ midfield dilemma.

Lennon Miller may be the ideal signing for Celtic.
We reported yesterday that Charlie Mulgrew pushed Celtic to sign the 17-year-old following his performance against Celtic on Sunday.

And given Miller’s performance against Celtic,

it’s difficult to argue otherwise. However, like with Celtic, the ultimate decision will be based on pricing.

How much would Miller cost Celtic if they decided to check into him? Mark Guidi is aware of this,

and the price he quotes is rather reasonable. Guidi told [The Go Radio Football Show],

“I think I said last week in the programme that Motherwell will sell him for around £2 million in the summer window and then loan him back.”

“I’m not sure whether Celtic or Rangers are interested. I really don’t.

I know at least four English Premier League clubs are interested in him,

and he’s high on their radar due to his good numbers.

“Miller is a ‘project signing’ at the age of 17, but his ability already makes him one of the hottest properties in Scottish football.

Who better for Miller to learn from than Celtic captain Callum McGregor?

The captain would be an excellent role model for the youngster,

with the goal of developing him into a complete midfielder capable of dominating that area of the pitch once McGregor retires.

Would Celtic spend £2 million on Miller if the situation demanded it? Simply put,

they spent that much on Ismaila Soro and an additional £1 million on Eboue Kouassi. Can they afford not to?

In other developments, Pat Bonner claims Celtic fans did something very’strange’ during the Motherwell game.
