36-year-old manager the leading candidate to replace Brendan Rodgers at Celtic
Rodgers row is much ado about nothing…
Brendan Rodgers is making the news owing to his ‘comment’ in a post match interview with BBC Scotland.
The interviewer in question was Jane Lewis who is known for her enthusiasm of another team from Glasgow,
like most of the persons over the years who have covered Scottish football for BBC Scotland.
This goes back decades; for example, Archie Macpherson has stated that he arrived to BBC Scotland in the 1960s and thought it was the 1690s due to the openly voiced anti-Catholic and anti-Celtic sentiment.
Did the BBC ever apologize for that?Jane Lewis, like many reporters,
was haggling Brendan over a question she already knew the answer to.
Brendan is an accomplished manager who more than held his own against her.
In contrast to Uncle Tom’s effusive chat with the Rangers goalkeeper the other day,
her assessment of the game was completely negative from a Celtic standpoint.
Tom English was banned from Celtic Park for an incident on Brendan Rodgers earlier this season.
Update: Obviously, this was not the complete interview.
In her pre-match interview, she misquoted BR, and he had to correct her.
She then began waffling as she felt humiliated. She couldn’t stop talking about the first half after the match.
KenThe red tops that used to feature a topless model on their third pages,
the Daily Record and the Sun, can lecture about sexism all they want,
but they’re unlikely to be taken seriously.
They’d rather write about and feature images of football WAGS on their sites than cover the women’s game.
