Brendan Rodgers in rapture as celtic advance towards supreme signing after selling club find replacement
This season, Celtic has seen a lot of chopping and shifting in the starting eleven,
some forced and some as a result of Brendan Rodgers’ inability to identify his best eleven.
The Hoops’ recent performance variations have piqued the interest and worry of both fans and commentators.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has made a crucial statement that sums up Rodgers and his team’s current situation.
Sutton said that Rodgers appeared to be undecided about his optimal lineup.
This was clear in the recent lineup alterations for the important match against Motherwell.
Notably, Nicolas Kuhn was brought in to replace Luis Palma on the wing,
while Tomoki Iwata was moved to midfield, resulting in a departure from the dual-
striker formation that featured Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah.
“The bottom line is Brendan Rodgers isn’t sure what his best 11 is right now,” Sutton said live on Sky Sports.
“That also applies to the formation. Kyogo starts as a central striker today,
which is where he should be playing, not off Adam Idah, though it is an option.
“We were informed that Kuhn was going to be high quality when he signed,
but he hasn’t demonstrated it, even if he hasn’t played much. He has an opportunity.
Celtic’s wingers have recently failed to provide wide-ranging service.
“Iwata will come into that holding role and McGregor and O’Riley will play higher up.”
It will be interesting to see how the team does today, especially those new to the squad.
Fans have been pleading for Iwata to receive more playing time,
as midfield is frequently overrun. Hopefully, he can resolve some of the issues.
