Duo set to return for Rangers as another key player joins Todd Cantwell on the sideline

Just as things were looking good, Rangers and Philippe Clement received devastating news that Todd Cantwell will be away for several weeks.

As typically, the Gers manager dismissed the drama, saying, “This is football,” but he will need to find a replacement for one of our most impressive players in recent weeks.

Rangers have been suffering with injuries all season, and Philippe Clement at least has a few choices in case of an emergency.

Rangers talents have an opportunity with Todd Cantwell’s absence.

Cantwell joins Danilo, Abdallah Sima, Rabbi Matondo, and Kieran Dowell on the injury list,

with the first four names in particular representing a major loss in terms of depth for the attack.

What we have seen in recent weeks, however, is the rise of one player and the reemergence of another,

both of whom are more than capable of filling the void.

The first player is the most noticeable.

When Tom Lawrence first joined the team, he was assigned to the number ten position.

He may not have the same sprinting power as Cantwell,

but there are few players in Philippe Clement’s roster with a comparable level of football knowledge.

The other person is Mohamed Diomande.

He performed well in his native number eight position last weekend,

but he has already played further up the pitch since signing in January.

It’s possible that his pace and energy are deemed more appropriate for the job, and he doesn’t require as much attention as Lawrence.

Moving Fabio Silva into a deeper position has not yet been tried but would be popular among fans;

nonetheless, Clement will not want to risk having both of them play every game given how he has been rotating.

It is a blow because Cantwell is one of our top players and has been in excellent form; nevertheless,

it only means that someone else will now need to step up to the plate.
