Rangers’ prospective Europa League last-16 opponents are revealed.

Rangers will learn their Europa League final 16 opponents on Friday, but Philippe Clement already knows which eight clubs his team could face.

After finishing first in their Europa League group, the Ibrox club was exempt from the competition’s elimination play-off rounds.

Rangers have been seeded in the last 16 draw, which will take place on Friday, February 23.

Rangers are seeded alongside Atalanta, Brighton, Leverkusen, Liverpool, Slavia Prague, Villarreal, and West Ham, hence they will not face any of those teams in the final 16.

Clement’s team will face one of the eight clubs who advanced in the competition after the play-off round, which ended this week.

German club SC Freiburg are one possible rival for Rangers in tomorrow’s draw having overcome Lens in the play-off with a 3-2 victory after extra-time.

Clement could also see his side drawn against AC Milan who progressed with a 5-3 aggregate triumph over Rennes despite a 3-2 loss in the second leg on Thursday.

Benfica scraped into the last 16 with a goalless draw against Toulouse in France having won 2-1 in the first-leg.

Azerbaijani club Qarabag produced a shock triumph over Braga to make the last 16. A 122nd minute strike from Nəriman Axundzadə claimed a 6-5 aggregate win after extra-time for the hosts – who lost 3-2 on the night but still progressed.

Sporting Lisbon made it to the last 16 with a 4-2 aggregate win over Young Boys of Switzerland. Sparta Prague also made it through as they won 3-1 against Galatasaray in the second leg for a 6-4 aggregate.

Ligue 1 side Marseille booked their place as an unseeded team in the last 16 with a 5-3 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk on aggregate. And Roma made it through a nervy penalty shoot-out against Feyenoord to qualify for the last 16.
