An insider with the Chicago Bears casts doubt on Justin Fields‘ potential return.
There is too much discussion about what the Chicago Bears should do with the top overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Justin Fields, the starting quarterback for the Bears right now,
said that he unfollowed both the NFL and the organization on Instagram for this reason, among others.
It’s becoming old to argue over whether the Bears should trade for Fields or pick Caleb Williams
with the first overall pick in the next draft.
The fans prefer to believe sleuth users on social media who fall for the banana in the tailpipe
with baseless social media reporting, rather than paying attention to actual NFL
insiders and reporters who continue to strongly hint at the Bears moving on from
Fields and selecting a quarterback with the first overall pick.
Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune is one reporter who has been unwavering in
his reporting that the Bears will be moving on from Fields.
Biggs previously made a suggestion that the Bears had already decided to keep Fields,
thus they are no longer considering whether to keep him.
“In my opinion, the Bears are not debating internally
whether to select a quarterback in the first round or to maintain Justin Fields.
The work being done, in my opinion, is to decide which quarterback they should pick.
Thus, the entire Fields vs. Caleb Williams argument is a fruitless endeavor.”
Given that Biggs is among the most informed reporters at Halas Hall and
that he even goes so far as to suggest that a decision has been taken,
it is safe to assume that he is headed in the correct direction.
The Bears’ decision to go with Williams as their quarterback is the most likely and simplest course of action,
regardless of the foolish debate some on the national level are having about it.
It is anticipated that the Bears’ actions at the Scouting Combine the following week will be made clear.
It was announced during the Scouting Combine of last year that
the Bears will exchange the first pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
This year, the opposite will probably be true, with a Fields trade virtually certain.
