Barry Ferguson believes that in order for Rangers forward Fabio Silva to live up to expectations, he must start putting forth “more

quality” in a Light Blue shirt.

The 21-year-old, who spent the second half of the season on loan from Wolves, signed with Philippe Clement’s Glasgow team in

January. However, in his first six Scottish Premiership games for the Gers, he has only managed to score once.

Ferguson has challenged Silva to perform more going ahead, especially considering that he originally cost Wolves a significant amount

of money, even if he has acknowledged that certain players may take longer than others to adjust to the Scottish game.

“I want to see a bit more from him, there’s no doubt about that,” he stated in an interview with The Go Radio Football Show on

February 21 at 16:10. He’ll put in a lot of effort for the squad, but I’m hoping for a little bit more quality.

It can take some players a little longer to get used to things, so maybe that will happen. If you sign for more than £30 million, you’re

not a horrible player, but maybe in the upcoming weeks he’ll start to play a little bit more.

Whether or not Clement’s striker choices are good enough to defeat Celtic and win the Scottish Premiership this year has been one of

the main talking points at Ibrox thus far this season.

Cyriel Dessers has had to lead the Gers line every week while Danilo and Kemar Roofe are out due to injuries. Despite a sluggish start

at Ibrox, the Nigerian forward has started to settle in and make an impression at the top of the pitch.
