BREAKING NEWS: Rangers about to sign Clinical forward in the Premiership

A decision on Balogun’s contract will be made before Davies and King are let go, according to the Rangers Review journalist,

considering their lack of playing time.

It was reported that if the team is able to recover the players’ salaries, they may use the money to either add a trustworthy backup or

enhance the performance of current starters John Souttar and Connor Goldson.

Jack stated in an interview with The Rangers Review on February 21 that the management will most likely look into it come

summertime. Ben Davies has struggled with his fitness and hasn’t featured as much under [Philippe] Clement.

“He appears to be a person you would take back the fee, reinvest the salaries in,

and try to strengthen in that position come

summertime.

Leon King is lower in the hierarchy, so it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he moved on. Balogun is one of the players whose

contract is debatable.

“I believe you could either improve it and bring in someone better or bring in someone to provide competition there if you started the

next season with Goldson and Souttar as your starting center-halves.”

Rangers transfer news emerges ahead of the summer

In order to improve on Souttar and Goldson in defense, reinforcements will need to arrive as a result of the three Rangers defenders

who have been identified as possible summer departures.

Goldson has been a fantastic servant at Ibrox and has received high praise for his performances again this season, so his place looks to

be secure, with the defence built around both him and James Tavernier. Souttar, meanwhile, has been a steady presence alongside his

teammates without really hitting the heights, and always with the threat that one poor display could see him dropped out of the team

and rotated with the likes of Balogun and Davies.

Centre-back has never been a specific problem position at Ibrox, but there is no doubt the position could be improved upon, with

options previously mooted including Harry Souttar from Leicester. Should Clement opt to move the defenders on, this position will

certainly be one to watch come the summer.
