Three Former Giants Head Coaches Join the Staff of the New England Patriots
Ben McAdoo, Drew Wilkins, and Tom Quinn—three former New York Giants coaches—
have reappeared in New England as members of Jerod Mayo’s coaching staff. McAdoo was named a senior offensive assistant.
McAdoo spent nearly two seasons as the Giants’ offensive coordinator from 2014 to 2015 before being promoted to head coach in 2016.
He led the Giants to a postseason appearance in 2016 during his nearly two years as head coach,
but the following season, the team collapsed under his leadership.
Wilkins most recently worked as the outside linebackers coach for the Giants,
where he spent two seasons as a member of Brian Daboll’s coaching staff.
On January 8, Daboll fired Wilkins, the outside linebackers coach for the Patriots.
Following Mike Sweatman’s retirement after the 2006 season,
Quinn was elevated to special teams coordinator and spent his first season as an assistant special teams coach.
Quinn was hired a special teams assistant coach of the Patriots staff.
Quinn was with the Giants from 2006 to 2021.
Quinn served as the Giants’ special teams coordinator until 2017.
After Thomas McGaughey was signed by the organization to take over as special teams coordinator,
Quinn was promoted to assistant special teams coach the following year.
