Rangers in good shape financially ahead of possible signing of £200000 per week Star Celtic still struggles

Four months after being “formally approached” by Rangers, Sam Jewell, the head of recruitment at Brighton and a potential

replacement for Nils Koppen, has agreed to join Chelsea. The 34-year-old has been placed on gardening leave while the terms of the

deal are ironed out, and it is anticipated that the transfer guru will move to Stamford Bridge in November.

Sam Jewell is the most recent member of the Chelsea backroom crew to leave Brighton, joining a whopping eight other non-playing

staff members taken by the West Londoners.

After taking over from American billionaire Todd Boehly, Chelsea has changed its approach to transfers, and the Blues are hopeful

that this early investment in the club’s recruitment will help.

Brighton has set the standard for date-driven, analytical hiring, and Chelsea’s big spenders obviously value that.

Chelsea-bound Sam Jewell “approached” by Rangers

Interestingly, Rangers reportedly “formally approached” Sam Jewell before Chelsea were mentioned as suitors in the Brighton staffer.

Fabrizio Romano claimed back October last year that the Ibrox side wanted to make Jewell

their new “Technical Director” to replace the outgoing Ross Wilson.

At the time, there was some misunderstanding regarding the connections, as Brighton-based local sources seemed to reject allegations

that Rangers were interested.

It’s interesting to note that Sam Jewell’s transfer to Chelsea occurred only a week after he was

connected to a comparable move to Manchester United.

Dan Ashworth, the sporting director of Newcastle United, was reportedly interested in adding Jewell

to his squad because the Red Devils were about to steal him.

Rangers wait, having made a move for Belgian alternative Nils Koppen, while Chelsea makes headlines for their acquisition of Sam Jewell.
The Netherlands team that is soaring in the Eredivisie and Champions League was largely assembled thanks in large part to the efforts

of the former PSV Eindhoven scout and recruitment wizard.

Chairman John Bennett made it apparent in the club’s most recent set of financial statements that the “fourth pillar” of the business

model—better player trading—was at the top of the Ibrox agenda.
