Following Mohamed Diomande’s first goal for Rangers in the team’s victory over St Johnstone, Nils Koppen took to social media.

The goal of the newly appointed Director of Recruitment for the Gers is to enhance the team’s player trading strategy,

which is referred to as the “fourth pillar” of Rangers’ business plan.

Nils Koppen’s first chance to leave his mark on Rangers came during the January transfer window when Mohamed Diomande joined

Oscar Cortes and Fabio Silva in joining the team.

All three players have had a strong start at Ibrox, but Koppen took some time to consider his expectations on social media, especially

for Ivorian midfielder Diomande.

Nils Koppen responds to Mohamed Diomande rocket

Nils Koppen only posted the “🚀” emoji in response to Rangers posting Mohamed Diomande’s right-footed rocket against St Johnstone.

The recruitment expert from KRC Genk and former PSV Eindhoven, who was instrumental in

acquiring the midfield player, appeared to be quite pleased at the moment.

Mohamed Diomande is officially the director’s first permanent signing at the club, even though Oscar Cortes has an option to buy at

the end of his loan from RC Lens and Fabio Silva is just on loan from Wolves until the end of the season.

After a first six-month loan, Rangers have agreed to pay FC Nordsjaelland’s midfielder a staggering £4.5 million in the summer.

Philippe Clement praises Rangers midfielder

Nils Koppen is only one component of Rangers’ redesigned hiring team; Philippe Clement played a significant role in the Mohamed Diomande trade as well.

Rangers have abandoned the Ross Wilson-era Sporting Director model in favor of a new one that guarantees

many contributions to the team’s hiring process with assigned duties.

The Rangers’ transfer business is under intense observation, and thus far, things are going well for

Philippe Clement and Nils Koppen.

Rangers’ revamped hiring team includes more than just Nils Koppen; Philippe Clement was a key player

in the Mohamed Diomande move.

The Rangers have eschewed the Sporting Director model of Ross Wilson in favor of a new one that ensures significant contributions to the hiring process along with designated responsibilities.

The Rangers are closely monitoring their transfer business, and so far, Nils Koppen and Philippe Clement are doing well.

Additionally, I want to get to know the players well before they enter the building. Therefore, I’m looking for guys who are available for

the squad and who don’t only show up to play a certain position or game.

“Dio has no trouble playing the three midfield positions. Naturally, he benefits from having a positive team dynamic,

but so do all others in his immediate vicinity.

“It all comes down to our connection, and he adjusted very quickly because the other guys are supporting him in that way.”

Before relocating to Denmark four years ago, Mohamed Diomande attended the renowned Right to Dream camp in Ghana. He went on to play more than 100 games for FC Nordsjaelland.
