Kemar Roofe ‘will leave Rangers’ after new update – Sources
According to Football Insider, Kemar Roofe’s contract with Rangers will expire at the conclusion of the season.
Transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed on the latest episode of Football Insider’s InsiKemar Roofeder Track Podcast that the Gers will not extend the forward’s contract at Ibrox and that he “will leave the club”.
According to Football Insider (15 February), Roofe was expected to leave Rangers after four seasons,
but their choice has now been made.
Manager Philippe Clement is eager to reduce the age of his team at Ibrox and attract young,
high-potential players in the upcoming transfer window,
which played a significant role in the club’s decision to part ways with the 31-year-old.
Kemar Roofe’s Rangers career is set to end after four seasons.
Roofe has also had numerous injuries throughout his time at the club, and he is now sidelined with an injury sustained in December.
His numerous setbacks are thought to be another major factor for his departure.
The former Leeds and West Brom ace joined Rangers for about £4.5 million from Belgian side Anderlecht in 2020 and has scored 38 goals in 93 games across all competitions.
He helped the club win the title in his debut season under Steven Gerrard in 2020-21, scoring ten league goals.
Rangers drew level on points and goal difference with Celtic following their 3-1 victory against Ross County on Wednesday (14 February).
Their next match is away to St Johnstone on Sunday afternoon (18 February).
