‘It is absolutely ridiculous’: Micah Richards amazed by what 32-year-old Rangers player has done

Following their 3-0 victory over the weekend, Micah Richards expressed his amazement at what one Rangers player has accomplished since arriving at Ibrox.

Having defeated St Johnstone 3-0 at McDiarmid Park on Sunday, Philippe Clement’s team is now atop the Scottish Premiership

standings. Now that the Gers have won 12 of their previous 13 league games, they are in first place.

And a major factor in their most recent triumph was James Tavernier. With two more goals for the Light Blues,

the 32-year-old now has 12 league goals for the year. He has assisted eight times thus far.

Micah Richards lauds James Tavernier after Rangers win

It is noteworthy that prior to his transfer to Ibrox, Tavernier had only managed to score eight goals in almost 100 career games. But

since then, in 443 appearances across all competitions, he has scored 120 goals and provided 127 assists.

Furthermore, Micah Richards stated on The Rest Is Football that he finds it hard to understand what the full-back has accomplished while playing for Rangers.

“The right-back Tavernier has more than 100 goals to his credit. I understand that he faces consequences,

but this is absurd,” he remarked.

Lot more to come from the skipper

Tavernier has scored 64 penalties in his Rangers career, according to Transfer market. This indicates that 56 goals, including numerous free kicks, have come from different parts of the field.

Even so, that is an excellent return. In nearly 300 club games, Micah Richards, who occupied the same position, finished his career

with just 11 goals. Furthermore, Richards’ track record undoubtedly more closely reflects the average right-back position.

Additionally, Tavernier has 12 in the league this season, so there’s a good chance the captain has a lot more in store for the future.
