On 19 February, the EFL Championship side decided to axe the English head coach who was in charge of the team for just 12 games.

It was his second dismissal of the season—and it’s just February—when he was abruptly fired at Ibrox, just before assuming the post at

the Stadium of Light.

Sutton posted on Twitter, saying, “I’m sorry to see Mick Beale go. He might go down as the worst manager in Rangers’ history and for

Sunderland’s history, all in the same season.

Is Beale truly the worst manager to have managed Sunderland and Rangers ever?

Arriving at Ibrox with much style, Beale was well accepted and mistakenly thought to be the driving force behind Steven Gerrard’s

success at the club.

But as this video demonstrates, he wasn’t exactly as well-liked when he was the head coach, so it’s not surprising that supporters of

both teams immediately turned against him.

Even if both teams have had awful managers in the past, Sutton’s assertion is warranted in light of Beale’s inability to have a good

influence while he was at Sunderland and Rangers, which ultimately resulted in his firing from both teams.

He should now take some time to think back on his managerial abilities and identify any areas where he may have failed.

Many managers follow more seasoned head coaches around to get a few tidbits from them.
