Rangers’ Transfer News

As the Rangers attempt to catch their city rivals, Clement has engaged significant reinforcements to assist them win silverware.

Rangers signed Mohamed Diomande on loan from FC Nordsjaelland to improve the club’s midfield options.

Oscar Cortes from RC Lens poses a more immediate offensive danger.

However, the most high-profile arrival was Fabio Silva, who joined on loan from Wolves, representing a big coup for the Ibrox club.

The 21-year-old heads north seeking to reclaim the form that won him a club record £35.6 million deal from Porto in 2020.

Silva, who has already scored two goals for his new squad, might prove important to Rangers’ title ambitions.

However, as Rangers fans welcome the new additions,

Clement has already made plans for one player’s future in the coming summer.

However, after playing zero minutes this season, Clement has decided it is time to declare McLaughlin surplus to requirements at Rangers.

According to Football Insider, the 36-year-old won’t be granted a new contract when his current one expires in May.

and will leave Ibrox. His impressive stay in the north east spurred the deal, as then Rangers manager Steven Gerrard informed the press:

“He is here to compete for the number one shirt and provide much-needed competition for positions…”

His SPFL experience will help him continue to push for a position  in the Scotland side.”

While Gerrard was certain that McLaughlin will play a vital role for his club,

The experienced goalkeeper has failed to get consistent minutes, playing only 25 league games in his first three seasons with the club.

The veteran has now fallen down the pecking order, with the arrival of Jack Butland in 2023 pushing Robby McCrorie to second choice at McLaughlin’s expense.

His current management window to express his dissatisfaction with the Rangers’ handling of expired contracts, explaining to the press

“Having five players out of contract is a ludicrous situation since it wastes money.

They have little value if their contract is ended.

“With McLaughlin allegedly making £317,200 per Salary Sport,

It’s easy to see why Clement is upset about the lack of urgency in getting these players off the books.

Due to a tight title competition with their nearest competitors, as well as the remaining stages of the cup,

McLaughlin will have little opportunities to play.
