Rangers may allow Tom Lawrence to leave next summer, according to Football Insider sources.

Speaking on the latest episode of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke indicated that the 30-year-old might be gone, with Philippe Clement looking to shape the squad in his image.

According to reliable sources, the manager is eager to reduce the age of his squad and bring in young, high-potential players in future windows.

Lawrence signed a three-year contract with Derby County, with the option to extend for another year in the summer of 2022, allowing the Gers to profit entirely from the free acquisition.

Tom Lawrence’s tenure at Rangers appears to be coming to an end, as Philippe Clement attempts to rebuild his squad.

The forward has only made 26 appearances in all competitions, as an Achilles injury kept him out for the bulk of last season.

During his time at Ibrox, the Wales international scored three goals and assisted four others.

Rangers signed young players in the January transfer window, most notably Oscar Cortes and Mohamed Diomande, and this is anticipated to be the club’s transfer strategy for the foreseeable future.

The team is also expected to lose 31-year-old Borna Barisic, with Football Insider reporting (15 February) that he is ready to leave the club this summer when his contract ends.

Rangers are equal on points and goal difference with league leaders Celtic following their 3-1 victory against Ross County on Wednesday (February 14).

They are scheduled to face St Johnstone away on Sunday afternoon (18 February).
