Wow: Rangers could now sell “outrageous” player who’s been incredible since Clement came in
In the summer transfer window, Rangers may want to offload a “outrageous” Ibrox talent, even if he’s become one of Philippe Clement’s most trustworthy players.
Rangers transfer & contract news
The Gers are in a good place on the pitch at the moment, threatening to win the Scottish Premiership
title this season, but Clement won’t want to rest on his laurels.
He will be aware that in order for his squad to maintain its positive reputation and to be linked
to potential new recruits, more signings are required in the summer.
Oscar Cortes joined Rangers on loan from Lens in January, but after the current campaign ends, rumors have it that the team will
become available on a free transfer, making him another target.
Additionally, it’s critical to lock down existing players to new contracts; according to a recent report, John Lundstram may decide to
stay at Ibrox longer. Later this year, his contract expires; the same goes for Borna Barisic,
Ryan Jack, and Kemar Roofe, among others.
Rangers set for Cyriel Dessers decision
Rangers may sell Cyriel Dessers this summer as part of a huge transfer shake-up, according to a recent report from Football Insider:
“Sources have told Football Insider that Rangers may sell Cyriel Dessers in the summer amid plans for a major summer clear-out.”
The forward, who struggled to make an impression for Michael Beale, has an incredible 11 goals and four assists in just 21 games under
the current management. The Nigerian international doesn’t fit into the club’s goal of bringing in “young high-potential players,” thus
they want to make a “significant squad change” in spite of this.
Given that Dessers has managed to improve on a bad start to the season, selling him would likely surprise Rangers fans. The 29-year-
old forward has already netted 10 goals in the Scottish Premiership in 2023–24 in just 17 games.
In the Europa League, he has also netted one goal and one assist.
After an incredible comeback victory over Ross County earlier this week, he was praised as “outrageous” by the This Is Ibrox podcast.
It appears like he will be a major contributor in the upcoming months.
Having said that, Rangers should be applauded and acknowledged for their decision if they want to let go of their veteran players and
add new players this summer. At the club, anticipating future needs is more important
than concentrating on the here and now and letting the group age together.
