C.J. Stroud of the Texans shines in the All-Star Celebrity Game
C.J. Stroud, a quarterback for the Houston Texans, participated in the Indianapolis 2024 Celebrity All-Star Game. Team Stephen A fell short against Team Shannon Sharpe, losing 100–91, and Stroud was left holding the bag. Former basketball player Stroud once defeated Jaime Jaquez Jr. of the Miami Heat with 40 points in a high school game. Stroud was quite entertaining on the basketball court following his seven home runs he hit on Thursday night during the Cactus Jack Celebrity Softball Classic. In the end, he scored 30 points in the defeat. Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys won MVP after leading Team Shannon Sharpe to victory. In the victory, he scored 37 points in total.
Stroud was unable to win. However, the former Ohio State recruit demonstrated why he is a rising star in his sport during his most recent game at Lucas Oil Stadium. He guided the Texans past the Indianapolis Colts in Week 18. The Texans had their third 10-win season in franchise history under Stroud’s direction. However, Houston made their first postseason appearance since 2019 thanks to the rookie quarterback. In the final game of his rookie campaign, Stroud completed 20 of 26 passes for 264 yards in passing. Stroud connected with wide receiver Nico Collins for a 75-yard touchdown on the Texans’ opening offensive play.
With his postseason total of 4,557 passing yards, Stroud concluded his rookie season with the second-highest total of any rookie quarterback in NFL history, only surpassed by Andrew Luck’s 4,662 yards in 2012.
