Rangers announce reserve friendly against Carlisle United
Next Monday, the Blues will travel north of the border to get some playing experience for some of their bench players.
At the Auchenhowie training facility of the Ibrox club, they will take on the Rangers B Team.
Paul Simpson, the manager of the Blues, stated to the News & Star yesterday that United was still waiting for word on a bounce game.
As of right now, the Gers have declared that the game will take place on Monday afternoon.
On Monday afternoon, Rangers B will play the first team of Carlisle United,” the Scottish Premiership team declared.
This term, the youthful Gers have played a variety of veteran teams; the English team’s visit is an exciting addition to
the B Team’s schedule of games.
Earlier this week, David McCallum’s team defeated Bolton Wanderers B 2-0 in Lancashire, winning their previous game.
“Among other teams this season, Gers B have faced Manchester United and Manchester City,
as well as OH Leuven’s main squad in a challenging match.
“The match will be played at the Rangers Training Centre, presented by Park’s Motor Group, with a 2.00pm kick-off.”
Simpson will probably use the match to give players who haven’t played for the first squad much lately some playing time.
Potential players include Jayden Harris, Dylan McGeouch, Seán Grehan, and Anton Dudik, a striker from Ukraine.
Young players are also expected to be included.
The United manager, Simpson, discussed yesterday the difficulties of leading a team that currently includes several players out of favor.
