Ex-Manchester United star can overcome 18 months of pain to play crucial Rangers role
Nobody will be more irritated than the Welshman Tom Lawrence as he continues to make appearances at
Ibrox in the Rangers first team.
The signing of the former Derby County captain, who was nearing the end of his contract,
After a career largely unblemished by injury, the Rangers curse well and truly struck down the one-time Manchester United talent as
he hoped to finally grab his chance at Ibrox.
It’s led to 18 months of raw frustration with Ibrox fans only ever getting glimpses of a player who boasts as much talent as anyone in
Scottish football.
Now, as Lawrence’s energetic and determined display against Ross County proved, the creative 30-year-old midfielder looks desperate
to make up lost time.
Rangers’ performance during the past 18 months with Tom Lawrence has been impressive, but the impact of the Welshman’s absence has been compounded by a serious injury issue. Therefore, Lawrence’s comeback could be critical for the club.
Lawrence was a big earner who was brought in to have an instant impact, but his knee injury interrupted
his season in September of last year.
This campaign, the Welshman experienced yet another setback during his comeback,
so Philippe Clement’s fitness team is currently cautiously working him back to full fitness.
