The Kansas City Chiefs have won their second consecutive Super Bowl.

They were able to win the Lombardi Trophy despite having a subpar receiving room and being the inferior team on paper against the San Francisco 49ers.

While there is a lot of optimism about the team’s chances of winning again next year, Willie Colon cautioned on a recent interview on The Carton Show.

He discussed the Chiefs’ free-agent decisions, citing Chris Jones and L’Jarius Sneed as the two most vital players to retain.

“If you’re serious about going to another Super Bowl, you have to find a way to get both of these dudes back in the building, especially L’Jarius Sneed,” Colon went on to say.

While Colon and the rest of the NFL community remain in awe of Patrick Mahomes and the magic he works on the field, the Chiefs still require a viable defense.

Their defense was a major reason they made it to the Super Bowl this season, and Jones and Snead were key members of that unit.

If one or both of them leave free agency, it might jeopardize the team’s prospects of winning another championship in 2024.

The next few months should provide a lot of clarity about what the Chiefs are thinking and what they plan to do going ahead.

They will need to do something, whether it is spending a lot of money on Snead and Jones or filling their roles through the draft or free agency.
