Aston Villa and Everton winger in the process of making a shocking move
Yannick Bolasie, a former winger for Aston Villa, is almost finished with his transfer to Criciuma in Brazil.
Since departing Swansea City at the end of his short-term deal last month, the 34-year-old has been without a club. He played in a few Championship games under Michael Duff before departing when Luke Williams succeeded the former Cheltenham manager after his dismissal.
Following his departure from Caykur Rizespor in July of last year, Bolasie signed with the Swans. He left Everton for the Turkish club in August 2021 after signing a free transfer. According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Bolasie is about to embark on a new chapter in his career in South America after agreeing to a pre-contract with Criciuma.
If all goes according to plan, Bolasie will depart for Brazil the following week to finalize the transfer. After finishing third in Serie B the previous season, Criciuma was promoted back to the top division.
Bolasie’s big-money signing from Crystal Palace was followed by a string of injuries while he was on the Everton roster. He started playing on loan at Middlesbrough, Villa, Anderlecht, and Sporting Lisbon.
Although he joined Villa under Steve Bruce, Dean Smith was the coach for the most of his games in 2018–19. Before Villa was promoted back to the Premier League later that season, his loan deal had concluded in January.
