Much-dreadfully  Rangers player now outperforming £30m-rated Celtic star this season

Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers is outperforming mDessers now has 14 goals this season, including 10 in the Scottish Premiership, after scoring twice against Ross County in midweek.

In comparison, Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi has eight goals in the Scottish Premiership this season,

with the Japanese striker’s last league goal coming in December’s Old Firm battle.

Cyriel Dessers Rangers’ resurgence
Cyriel Dessers, who joined Rangers for a reputed £4.5 million from Cremonese,

was heavily criticised in the early stages of his career.

uch-heralded Celtic rival Kyogo Furuhashi in the Scottish Premiership so far this season.

Cyriel Dessers, 28, an Ibrox summer signing, has been heavily criticised this season,

but since the hiring of Philippe Clement, the striker has improved in Glasgow.

With the Gers having released Alfredo Morelos,

the Belgian-born Nigerian international was recruited as the club’s new number nine.

Under Michael Beale, the forward appeared to be a flop,

but credit to Cyriel, the former Feyenoord striker has turned a corner,

with Rangers fans now shouting his name.

In recent memory, it’s difficult to recall such a dramatic makeover of a Rangers career in such a short space of time,

and the goals speak for themselves as the Ibrox team climbs back into the title chase.

In terms of similarities to Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi,

Cyriel Dessers’ Rangers resurgence is exemplified by the fact that he has now surpassed the Parkhead front in Premiership scoring charts.

It is worth mentioning that Lawrence Shankland (17) and Bojan Miovski (13) have more points than both players,

hence none is the division’s leading scorer.

While many have dismissed Cyriel Dessers as a washout, Kyogo Furuhashi is widely regarded as the division’s best forward player.

And it’s for good reason.

The Celtic striker is a big game player and huge goal scorer – he scored seven against Rangers last year,

for example – which is why we keep hearing that the Parkhead team has an attacking advantage over us.

We doubt Cyriel Dessers will command the £30 million price tag that Kyogo Furuhashi has received.

However, with Dessers now finding his footing in Glasgow, his Old Firm credentials may be tested soon.
