Kemar Roofe may have one last chance to keep his Rangers career alive after a season marred by injuries.

The 31-year-old striker has had a number of troubles since joining the club in 2020 under Steven Gerrard.

Barry Ferguson, the former Ibrox club captain, is a big fan of the Jamaican international,

but he knows the attacker can’t keep up his fitness with injuries apparently always around the corner.

Roofe has scored several significant goals for the club in the past, including against Celtic and in European competition,

and his goal against Real Betis was a huge boost to their season.

And Ferguson believes that with Cyriel Dessers in good form and loanee Fabio Silva quietly scoring goals and going about his business,

Roofe may have one last chance to make a difference when he returns.

“Listen, his Ranger career has been limited by injuries. You’ve heard my thoughts on Kemar Roofe.

I think he’s an excellent centre forward. No doubt, but it’s just to keep him fit,” Fergie told GO.

“This is probably his last chance to save his Rangers career for the postseason.

If you can get him back in shape, I believe he has the potential to be a major player.

I’m not saying start because Dessers is doing so well. His form has improved.

Fabio Silva is currently scoring a few goals. But when it comes to scoring, no one beats Kemar Roofe. “He’s a predator inside the box.”

Stephen McGinn continued, “What the Rangers might do is see whether he can repeat his performance from the first half of the season.

Get him fit enough to be a viable option in one of the major games.

His goal for Betis earned the club a lot of money. Can they just get one last tune out of Kemar Roofe?”
