After giving his championship race assessment, Craig Moore believes Philippe Clement will be asking more of his Rangers players in private in ONE crucial area.

The Light Blues defeated Ross County 3-1 at Ibrox on Wednesday night, but they were unable to take the lead in the Scottish

Premiership standings. In order to pass Celtic at the top, the home team had to win by three goals; otherwise, Brendan Rodgers’ team

would still hold the first spot because their teams had the same amount of points and goal differential.

Scottish Cup and Europa League are still up for grabs. Moore, a former Rangers defender, believes that the match against the Staggies

was a fantastic opportunity to move clear at the top and that many opportunities were wasted.

“It was a great opportunity for Rangers to go clear on top of the table,” he stated in a Go Radio interview. The game had a ton of

opportunities, it really did. [Cyriel] Dessers scores a few; it appears that he is the player who scored the more difficult goals. He also

had another two opportunities, Rabbi Matondo. James Tavernier, or Tav, had a strong chance. It should have been six or seven, in my

opinion. Although I’m sure Clement would have been pleased with the win and three points,

I think there was a chance lost to take the lead in the standings.

“But I will add that Rangers were very, very good in the opening half of last night’s match under Clement. I’m not talking long ball

direct; I’m talking direct and positive. They move the ball fast, and the play had a genuine urgency about it. There was true intent, whether it was wide or through the middle to Dessers.

“I believe that Clement will be pressing them to seize more chances behind closed doors. You ought to be scoring more goals when you have that many, 21 shots on goal.”

This season, Rangers and Celtic have 13 league games left, including two derby matchups—one at Ibrox and the other at Parkhead on

the day of the league split. Moore believes that the battle at the top will go down to the wire, and he has firsthand knowledge of how

important it is to take as many risks as possible when things are close to breaking down.

He went on, “There’s no question about it. There is a contest for the title this season. This season, winning the championship is the

goal. It’s not like Clement entered the picture and immediately started preparing for the upcoming season. There is currently a live

opportunity, and the pressure will increase. With 13 games left, Celtic and Rangers will

be under more and more pressure each time they play. It will go straight to the wire and is quite exciting.
