Missouri’s Kansas City (Gray News) – Following the Super Bowl championship parade, there have been claims of a shooting. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are responding to these reports.
“We’re hoping for Kansas City. Mahomes typed on X and then three emojis of hands in prayer.
The Chiefs released an official statement on X on Wednesday night.
The statement says, “We are deeply saddened by the senseless act of violence that took place outside of Union Station at the end of today’s parade and rally.” “All of Kansas City, as well as the victims’ families, are in our thoughts and prayers.”
The group added that all of its players, coaches, staff, and their families were unharmed and that it is in communication with the police.
An attempt was made by wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling to help the victims via social media:
Is there any way you could put me in contact with these children or their families? I want to make sure they’re doing okay first. However, I would be happy to assist them in any way I can and provide them with some team supplies to aid in their recuperation.
On their individual X accounts, a number of additional Chiefs players sent messages requesting prayers for the victims:
Kansas City police have reported that three people have been placed under arrest and are the subject of an investigation.
