Former Celtic defender Mark Wilson is still not persuaded by Nicolas Kuhn’s “electric” skills,

despite the Scottish Premiership champions spending $3 million on him in January.

Nicolas Kuhn could not have had a worse debut for The Hoops,

since he scored an equalizer on just his second outing (though it was a highly deflected one away to Aberdeen).

However, that is still his sole noteworthy performance while wearing the green and white stripes.

A few days later, the January signing from Rapid Vienna was unable to build on his Pittodrie leveler against Hibernian.

After that Hibs match, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers acknowledged that Kuhn would require some time to get used to a new team and a new league. Wilson, however, already has grave concerns about the most recent player to don the renowned number ten shirt at Parkhead.

Nicolas Kuhn’s slow start at Celtic

“Listen, I’m not sure what Kuhn will be,” Wilson, a three-time winner of the Scottish Premiership in the middle of the 2000s,

said to Clyde Super Scoreboard.

There have been rumors circulating that he can run by people and is electric. I haven’t seen it yet.

I caught a brief glimpse of him at Pittodrie, but the other night at Easter Road, he appeared completely out of it.

Last month, Kuhn made a £3 million transfer from Austrian football to Celtic. The quick,

German-born forward has quite the reputation from his junior football days, having played for Ajax,

Bayern Munich, and RB Leipzig. However, he hasn’t yet proved he can transition that talent into regular adult play.

The £3 millionaire needs to work hard.

“It seems like Kuhn needs some time to get used to our playing style,” Rodgers comments to the Celtics YouTube account.

“We’ve experienced his high points and the areas where he can grow.”

It’s possible that traits from one team transfer into another.

However, you still have to deal with disparities, and occasionally you can see that while playing.

The other midseason signing for Celtic, Adam Idah, has undoubtedly had a greater influence north of the border.

During that Hibernian trip, the Norwich City loanee scored twice,

including the game-winning goal in stoppage time,

and he already seemed to be forming a productive partnership with Kyogo Furuhashi in the closing third.
