“Outstanding” Rangers player now Accept pay cut to quit Ibrox with eyes on big deal
He’s come in for praise in the past.
One Rangers player is apparently looking to leave Ibrox at the end of the season and may make his next move now.
Rangers’ January Transfer Window
Philippe Clement’s first transfer window as Rangers manager was a productive one, with three new loan signings.
Fabio Silva, Mohamed Diomande, and Oscar Cortes came from Wolves, Nordsjaelland, and Lens,
respectively, while Sam Lammers, Jose Cifuentes, and Adam Devine left on temporary contracts until the conclusion of the season.
When discussing the club’s operations last month, Clement appeared reasonably delighted, saying:
“Great, and I’m glad it’s completed so we know what the squad will be for the next four months.
It’s almost like a sprint over the next four months with a lot of games, and we know who our squad is.
“We made a few changes to balance the roster;
we added some young and promising players who can improve their game here and offer value to the club, as well as,
in the future, to bring more money into the club. It is not the main priority;
the key concern is to get outcomes while maintaining a good company plan.
“Rangers are currently battling Celtic for the top spot in the Scottish Premiership,
while also competing in the Europa League and Scottish Cup following their League Cup victory.
It appears like the remaining few months of the season will be intense,
but one player appears to have already decided to leave Glasgow.
Borna Barisic Transfer Update
According to Football Insider in the last 48 hours,
left-back Borna Barisic is set to depart Ibrox for free at the end of the current season and already appears to be looking for a “bigger deal” elsewhere.
“Sources tell Football Insider that Rangers left-back Borna Barisic is ready to leave the club when his contract expires this summer.
The 31-year-old’s contract expires in May, and he is now looking to take advantage of his free agent status over the offseason.
Barisic is aware that he might earn a better contract elsewhere if he leaves Ibrox for free.
Barisic has been at Rangers since 2018 and has had a successful career at Ibrox,
but his time in Scotland appears to be coming to an end.
