Rangers legend John Brown has questioned Manchester United’s decision to let Jack Butland go and fork out for Andre Onana.
The Ibrox legend, 62, was showering praise on the England Euro 2024 international hopes following a strong start to his Rangers career.
Jack Butland joined Rangers in the summer after his contract with Crystal Palace expired;
the goalkeeper had spent the previous few months at Manchester United.
While the goalie has never played for his boyhood idols,
John Brown has questioned United’s decision to let Jack Butland go, claiming he is more than capable of playing at Old Trafford.

At a special promotional event for the Rangers Youth Development Company, John Brown waxed poetic about Jack Butland.
With Manchester United’s David de Gea departing the Premier League club in the summer, the Red Devils spent a record £47.2 million to recruit Andre Onana as his replacement.
But the Rangers 9IAR legend believes the Gers have received a steal on Jack Butland,
implying the stopper is every bit as good, if not better, than the Cameroonian.”I was always a fan of Butland,” Brown added.
“I’m shocked he didn’t get more minutes down south.
“When I look at the English Premier League, there are a number of goalkeepers that I believe Jack Butland is better than.
“He was at Manchester United and was my first choice goalkeeper.
If I were looking for a dependable goalie, I would go with Jack Butland. The fact that we got him is great for the club.”
