Philippe Clement will not tolerate complacency as his Rangers squad looks to overtake leaders Celtic by defeating struggling Ross County on Wednesday.

If Govan wins by more than two goals at Ibrox, they will be able to take the Scottish Premiership lead.

Second-bottom County, who have gone nine games without a win,

will be overseen by interim manager Don Cowie for the first time since Derek Adams’ departure.

“I don’t like it when you say teams are fragile,” Rangers manager Clement stated.

“I believe players always have pride. Also, people are suddenly given the opportunity to coach; I had it twice.

When a coach was fired, I served as his interim replacement. You are extremely motivated and give your all every day and night.

“As always, we expect a tough game. We need to win the game, break through the wall,

be incredibly good with and without the ball, and concentrate on that.”

Clement continues to downplay the title race, stating he will ignore the league table on Wednesday night even if Rangers win,

although he believes positive spirit can “only be a good thing”.

“A few months ago, it was another kind of noise when the players came on the pitch,” he said. “They did not like that.

“This one, they like.”
