Borna Barisic scored the first goal of the game following some excellent work by recent addition Oscar Cortes, while Fabio Silva,

who came from Wolves during the January transfer window, scored the second goal for the Gers.

Writing for the Daily Record on February 12, page 38, Keith Jackson asserted that Silva is “up for the challenge,”

despite the player’s own admission that he is not a suitable striker.

Given the ailments plaguing Rangers’ attacking core, Silva will probably see action up there for Philippe Clement.

Silva acknowledges that he isn’t a pure No.9, but he is still a skilled operator.

The Wolves player is obviously up for the challenge as the Rangers must split the weight in the front areas due to injuries,

Jackson wrote for the Daily Record.

Big chance for Silva

The 21-year-old hasn’t been a huge hit for Wolves, but he has a chance to resurrect his career at Ibrox.

Throughout the game, the youthful forward squandered one or two excellent opportunities.

Players like James Tavernier and Scott Wright were also unable to capitalize on excellent scoring opportunities.

Todd Cantwell, who entered the game as a substitute, was mostly responsible for the second goal.

After a wonderful chip across the goal, he let the ball drop into Silva’s path, and Silva made no mistakes.

With so much confidence restored by the goal, Clement will be hoping to continue scoring goals.

Rangers had a dominant game, managing to get 26 shots in the match. Under Michael Beale,

the Gers were in disarray at the beginning of the season, but they are now appearing to be a formidable force under Clement.

They have narrowed the gap with Celtic to just three points having played a game less.
