Football Insider has been informed by sources that Phil Cowen, the academy chief, left Rangers last year and began working at Arsenal.

After coming in January, the new director of the Gunners’ academy scouting department is well entrenched at the London club.

In October 2023, Cowen told Rangers he was going to Arsenal, and two months later, he left.

Reliable sources call the talent scout’s departure a “big blow” for the Gers.

He was the head of talent discovery at Ibrox in his final position. Nonetheless, he worked in a variety of positions with the Glasgow giants for a total of 15 years.
