Former Eurosport reporter Dean Jones has shared his knowledge of Hearts striker
Lawrence Shankland’s connections to Rangers.
On February 11, Jones stated to Give Me Sport that, up until the last moments of the
January transfer window, the 28-year-old had not completely ruled out leaving the
club and maybe moving to Ibrox.He also suggests that the fact that he’s not signed an
extension at Tynecastle even though the window has ended could mean a summer
transfer to Gers.
Indeed, Hearts supporters are definitely not doing too much better here, he added, as
he hasn’t signed a new deal and there will likely be more rumors that another team
will try to recruit him. I was not assured that he would stay in Hearts, not even during
the window’s last hours. That probably says a lot about the direction this guy’s career
is going to go in the future.
Rangers to Shankland still in the works
Shankland’s summer transfer to Ibrox is still quite likely to happen, and there may
still be conversations going on between the striker and the team.
Rangers’ interest in Shankland shows that Philippe Clement’s team still has interest in
him, even though the trade did not happen during the January window.
