The Dallas Cowboys legend and a foundational player in their last three Super Bowl titles

captured almost 30 years ago – made the rounds here in Las Vegas during Super Bowl Week and put the entire organization on blast,

from Jerry Jones on down. and borrowing our “#53Brands” concept in the process.

In an interview, Smith stated, “Nobody wants to fight hard anymore.”

And what do the Cowboys of this age do in their place?

“Well, we’re the Cowboys,” Emmitt scoffed. Tell me how excellent I am. View my posts on Instagram.

Check me out on my podcast. I’m the one doing all of this. “I am everything!” without taking any action.

Naturally, this is what we’ve been saying for years:

Dallas, as an organization, has adopted a “marketing-first” mentality that has permeated the locker room,

where notoriety is taken for granted and 53 individual players are worried about their 53 separate “brands.”

Smith remarked, “Everyone’s clapping them on the back without doing anything.”

They are not based on current events; rather, they are based on previous events.

They’re not creating a legacy of their own, much less expanding upon the one that already exists.”

Smith expressed surprise that following the Cowboys’ 48-32 playoff loss to the visiting Green Bay Packers,

team owner Jerry Jones chose not to remove head coach Mike McCarthy.

This makes him question whether Jones’ “mission” is actually to win a Super Bowl.

Furthermore, he finds it concerning that the members of “America’s Team”

these days don’t appear to have any regard for their predecessors.

Emmitt stated, “As a running back,

I felt I could not let Tony Dorsett down when I signed with the Cowboys.

And as a running back, I knew I could not let Robert Newhouse down. or Calvin H. Hill. Or ‘Bullet’ Bob Hayes.

knew I could never let Roger Staubach, aka ‘Captain Comeback,’ down. Ed Jones (Too Tall).

“Since I grew up loving them as a Cowboy, I accepted the history of who we were.”

And right now?

He declared, “I’m sick of hearing about how great the Cowboys are.”

“I’m worn out. I’m more interested in the true nature of the Cowboys,

therefore I’ve had enough. and the true selves of each of us. I’m at that point with these “motherbrothers.”

“That product used in the playoffs on the football field…

That is not in line with the mystique, respect, or brand of the Dallas Cowboys.

That isn’t a fitting depiction of the brand. Jerry can now grasp this type of language. The brand, is that correct? “The Star”…
