Former Eurosport reporter Dean Jones has shared his knowledge of Hearts striker Lawrence Shankland’s connections to Rangers.

On February 11, Jones stated to Give Me Sport that, up until the last moments of the January transfer window, the

28-year-old had not completely ruled out leaving the club and maybe moving to Ibrox.

Additionally, he makes the suggestion that the fact that he hasn’t signed a contract extension at Tynecastle despite

the window closing could indicate a summer transfer to the Gers.

Indeed, Hearts supporters are definitely not doing too much better here, he added, as he hasn’t signed a new deal

and there will likely be more rumors that another team will try to recruit him. I was not assured that he would stay in

Hearts, not even during the window’s last hours. That probably says a lot about the

direction this guy’s career is going to go in the future.

Shankland to Rangers still on the cards

Shankland’s summer transfer to Ibrox is still quite likely to happen, and there may still be conversations going on

between the striker and the team.

Rangers’ interest in Shankland shows that Philippe Clement’s team still has interest in him, even though the trade

did not happen during the January window.

The 28-year-old’s impressive performances in the Scottish Premiership, coupled with his prolific goal-scoring

record, make him an attractive prospect for Gers as they aim to bolster their attacking options.

Additionally, Shankland’s contract situation at Hearts, where he has not yet signed a new deal, further fuels

speculation about his potential departure.

Rangers may prioritize obtaining the Scotland international’s signature in the forthcoming summer transfer window

given that they were somewhat quiet during the winter transfer window in terms

of permanently signing a first-team striker.

He might score more than 20 goals in the league over the next several seasons and would undoubtedly be a perfect fit

for Clement’s team.

A former midfielder for Everton and Liverpool has disclosed an offer to guarantee a permanent move to Ibrox,

according to other Rangers news.
