Aberdeen boss Neil Warnock has referred to Rangers-linked Bojan Miovski as “the best” striker he has ever coached.
The temporary Pittodrie manager spoke after the Macedonian striker, 24, scored a match-winning double against Bonnyrigg Rose in the Scottish Cup.
While Warnock was less than impressed with the Dons’ performance during the post-match press conference, the manager waxed lyrical about the in-form striker.
Bojan Miovski already has 22 goals this season, and Neil Warnock believes he is the best frontman he has ever worked with.
Neil Warnock discusses Bojan Miovski.
Bojan Miovski entered the Scottish Cup match having scored in two consecutive games against Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers.
On Neil Warnock’s home debut as Aberdeen manager, the double saved the club’s blushes and exorcised the ghosts of last season’s defeat to lowly Darvel.
When it came to full-time, all of the attention was on Bojan Miovski, with Neil Warnock’s comments further adding to the hitman’s popularity.
“What can you say about him (Bojan Miovski)?” Neil Warnock stated. “He is only a top finisher.
“To be honest, I’ve struggled with strikers my entire career.
“I’ve done well with goalkeepers, center backs, and midfielders, but never with strikers.
“It’s ironic isn’t it coming to this stage of my career I’ve got probably the best one I’ve ever had.”
Rangers linked with Aberdeen striker.
Given that Aberdeen is Neil Warnock’s 19th managerial job, Bojan Miovski deserves high recognition.
The comments came amid escalating transfer speculation about the Aberdeen striker’s future, with Rangers and Celtic connected in the press.
Miovski, who is only 24, even addressed the links this week, naming both sides of the Old Firm and admitting he was “happy” to have them mentioned.
Rangers may face a striker reshuffle this summer, with Kemar Roofe out of contract and Fabio Silva’s loan coming to an end.
However, with speculations of an £8 million valuation for the Macedonian striker,
it appears like Rangers’ expectations of pounce are a little overly optimistic.
Neil Warnock has recently raised the forward’s transfer status with his “best” ever boasts.
