After the winter break, the Gers returned to competitive play with a 4–0 victory over Dumbarton, and they have won every game since.

Continuing their winning streak and securing a significant victory over Championship opponents, captained by none

other than Scott Brown, in Govan would preserve the positive vibe that Philippe Clement

has instilled across the team.

The Belgian addressed the media on Friday to deliver his pre-match thoughts and within that gave a few availability

and injury updates for the game.

So here is the latest Rangers injury news for Ayr United at home today.

Rangers injury latest

Ben Davies

The center defender hasn’t played for the Rangers since their victory in the Viaplay Cup Final in December.

Although the nature of Davies’ problem is unclear, he has returned to the team for the match against Ayr United.

“Ben Davies will be in the selection again for the first time,” Philippe Clement informed the media.

Tom Lawrence

The 30-year-old Welshman is a class act when playing for Rangers but unfortunately hasn’t been doing that enough

this season due to a number of injury setbacks.

Clement is currently attempting to control his playing time, so even though he is healthy for the Ayr game, he will be

unable to participate.

Tom Lawrence is not (available), but it is more of a precaution, similar to what we did with Ryan Jack over the

weekend, Clement said. Since he has played a lot of minutes, we are allowing them to heal sufficiently so that we can develop them.

Ryan Jack

In order to manage his recuperation, the midfield player was rested for the victory against Aberdeen; however, he

will be included in the team to take on the Honest Men from Ayrshire.

Clement stated: “Ryan Jack has returned to the lineup. The story is told step-by-step. For Jack and Lawrence, this is

essentially a preparatory period. It’s not like the old days, when you could play every game and be in perfect shape.

“They have came back from longer injuries and they both have a history of injuries that are recurring. So we need to

be careful with them and there is good communication with the medical and performance staff around that and I need to make a clear plan for them.”
