Breaking News: Chris Sutton shares ‘Phenomenal’ Rangers/Celtic player verdict as he blames Parkhead squad
Despite his decline in form this season, Chris Sutton has lauded Kyogo Furuhashi for his “phenomenal” goal-scoring record versus Rangers.
The analyst claimed that the Japanese international is “sharper in movement and brain” than any other player in the
Scottish Premiership in a piece published on the Daily Record website on Saturday, February 10.
However, he said that the 29-year-old has had fewer scoring opportunities due to a decline in performance and a
lowering of standards among the rest of the Hoops team, and the forward has been unable to score the goals
necessary to give his team a commanding lead over the Gers in the title fight.
Sutton affirmed, “He makes a difference.” He has proven it as a big-game player over the past two seasons. Kyogo
has an incredible record while facing the Rangers. He is the Scottish Premiership’s only player with a track record of
winning matches and having the sharpest mobility and intellect.
“The game was decided by his awareness of the give and go and the shot that won the second penalty at Easter
Road.” The issue is the decline in levels surrounding him. Not Kyogo. That is due to his supply line’s slipping
standards. Rodgers hasn’t been able to supply him, whereas Ange Postecoglou has.
Lack of Kyogo Furuhashi goals for Celtic benefiting Rangers
It’s pretty clear that the lack of goals from Kyogo this season is hampering Celtic after he put up sensational numbers in the previous couple of campaigns.
Since joining Rangers from Japanese team Vissel Kobe in 2021, he has been a major threat to the team, scoring some
significant goals in Old Firm matches.
After scoring 11 goals in 33 appearances last season, the forward has been a far less efficient player, which has
undoubtedly contributed to the Hoops dropping points in games that they would not have in the past.
Because of this, the Gers have been able to tighten their grip and cut their lead over their Old Firm opponents to just
three points at the top of the SPL. Philippe Clement’s team still has a game left to play.
Since the Belgian moved to Ibrox, they have been playing fantastically, and he will be sure that his team can contend
for another championship this year.
In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton has refuted claims that the team’s top player is “excellent.”
