Bears supporters anticipate trading for Justin Fields in the NFL Draft.
CBS Chicago — Of course, Sunday’s Super Bowl is the biggest football event of the year, but for the Bears and their supporters, the NFL Draft’s first day will be even more significant.
The issue that remains is whether the Bears will deal Justin Fields or the first overall pick in exchange for yet another huge haul.
Charles Davis, a CBS NFL analyst, discussed how he believes the Bears would approach this potentially game-changing decision before to the Super Bowl. The hire of Shane Waldron as the new offensive coordinator is just one of the significant adjustments that the Bears are making, according to Davis.
“I believe you’re heading in a different path if you’ve fired your offensive coordinator and blown up your offensive staff. That implies that Justin Fields won’t be able to continue as the starting quarterback,” Davis stated. “You’re sitting right there at number one.”
Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Caleb Williams of USC filed for the NFL Draft in January.
Williams is probably going to be the first quarterback chosen.
Ryan Poles will now decide if he is taken by the Bears at number one overall;
he has until April to make this decision.
“If it’s Caleb Williams at USC, go get him – because you have another pick at nine,” stated Davis.
The NFL Draft of 2024 will take place in Detroit from April 25 to April 27.
