Bojan Miovski, an Aberdeen striker, has welcomed transfer talks with Rangers ahead of the summer window.

Miovski has been in excellent form with the Dons this season, scoring 19 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions.

The North Macedonia international was linked with Rangers in January, as were Celtic and Southampton.

And, while Miovski correctly insists he has no plans to leave Pittodrie, he is pleased that he is being considered as a target for those clubs.

“I’m having the best season of my career at Aberdeen, and I’m enjoying football,” he told the Daily Record [8 February].

“I enjoy Scotland. It has a strong affinity for football. People adore the club and follow us wherever we go.

“I like Scottish football because it is fast-paced and the balls are constantly thrown to us strikers.

“The game involves a lot of contact, but it’s straightforward, and I enjoy seeing so much action in the penalty box.

“I am happy to be linked with clubs like Celtic, Rangers and Southampton because that means I’m making progress.”

Lawrence Shankland Contract Uncertainty

The January transfer window saw a lot of talk about Hearts star Lawrence Shankland and a possible move to Ibrox.

Shankland will undoubtedly stay at the top of the Gers’ transfer wishlist if he is allowed to reach the last 12 months of his contract in the summer.

However, if Shankland signs a new contract at Tynecastle or is acquired by another club, Miovski appears to be the best alternative.

The 24-year-old’s price tag may be an issue, and the Rangers should not pay above market value, but he is proven in this league.

Rangers

Miovski, described as “brilliant” by Kelle Roos, would be prepared to hit the ground running if he joined in the summer.

Aberdeen’s new manager, Neil Warnock, challenged Miovski this week to score 30 league goals this season [Aberdeen Live].

Should he do so, Rangers should not hesitate to make him their marquee signing of the summer.
