“The Greatest Issue” – Chris Sutton’s Celtic Title Admonition
Celtic’s once-comfortable eight-point lead at the top of the league has evaporated under Brendan Rodgers’ direction, as Rangers, under new manager Philippe Clement, are closing the gap.
Rangers have been steady since Clement’s hiring, according to Chris Sutton, but the inconsistency has been “Celtic’s biggest problem.”
The Rangers haven’t had any trouble crossing the finish line against the other ten SPFL teams, despite Rodgers‘ triumph over Clement at Parkhead.
On the other hand, Celtic has faltered, drawing Aberdeen, Hibs, St Johnstone, Motherwell, and losing to Kilmarnock and Hearts. This has forced Rangers into a championship match.
Sutton voiced his worries on Sky Sports, as reported by RecordSport.
“Since Philippe Clement joined the Rangers, there has been a clear shift in momentum.”
“He is assembling a team that is gathering faith on a weekly basis.
“They managed to prevail this evening, but ultimately, they were at ease.” Although it wasn’t very attractive, they crossed the line. The main issue facing Celtic is their erratic play.
“Under Brendan Rodgers, they don’t have a great record at Easter Road, so it’s time for Celtic to go there and respond.”
On Wednesday night, Celtic has to win at Easter Road with three points.
