Rangers: Chris Sutton loses his mind over what he witnessed against Aberdeen at Ibrox calls it “phenomenal”

After Bojan Miovski‘s “phenomenal” equalizer for Aberdeen on Tuesday, February 6, Rangers defeated them 2-1 at Ibrox, leaving Chris Sutton speechless.

With goals from Todd Cantwell and Rabbi Matondo, Rangers defeated Aberdeen 2-1 in a hard-fought match to draw even with Celtic atop the Scottish Premiership.

After Roos, the goalkeeper for the Dons, misplayed Ross McCausland’s shot, Rabbi Matondo gave the Gers the lead within six minutes, giving them a fantastic start to their chase of their rivals.

But against the flow of play, Miovski scored his 20th goal of the year, winning a long pass and skillfully lifting the ball over Jack Butland under pressure from Conor Goldson.

Sutton was astounded by Miovski’s goal live on Sky Sports on February 6, 2008, at 8:54 p.m., saying, “This is a phenomenal goal.”

People can criticize Goldson all they want, but Miovski has already read the pass and is in motion. And he still has a ton of work to accomplish.

“But he has excellent clarity and thought.”

Rangers ought to have pursued the January transfer of Miovski.

At Ibrox, Rangers dominated the first half and Clement witnessed his team make significant strides toward catching up to Celtic.

With Matondo’s goal, the tension at Ibrox was reduced as the team prepared to take on Aberdeen, who would have been experiencing a managerial change following Neil Warnock’s appointment.

With such a strong start, Clement’s team had allayed any nerves and ought to have scored more goals prior to Miovski’s deft finish.

Even though Butland has been outstanding throughout the campaign, he was powerless to stop Miovski’s finish, as he ended like a goal scorer who enjoys scoring 20 goals a season.

Ironically, Rangers need a striker of that caliber to unseat Celtic, and if they had offered £2 million or slightly more, they might have acquired their target. Rather than second-guessing Lawrence Shankland.

In what has been a mediocre season for the entire team at Pittodrie, the 24-year-old has been incredible for Aberdeen, but Miovski has been playing like a striker who belongs on a team that is contending for the championship.

Undoubtedly, the Macedonian striker has now drawn a lot of attention to Rangers thanks to that finish. A fantastic finisher and a brilliant striker.
