Midfield disaster Jose Cifuentes has confirmed his departure from the Rangers, joining a Brazilian team on loan.

Jose Cifuentes left Rangers on loan, the club confirmed. He signed a four-year contract in Scotland, but only six months later.

The Ecuadorian international has signed a 12-month contract with Cruzeiro, a team in the Brazilian Serie A. They do, however, have the option to purchase the 24-year-old, who last summer cost Rangers £1.2 million.

Cifuentes is the most recent addition to the team that former manager Michael Beale pushed out, which speaks something about recruitment under his direction. After making just nine appearances in the Scottish Premiership following his much-awaited arrival and making 20 total appearances, the midfielder is heading back to South America.
