Daizen Maeda is expected to start for Celtic in their Scottish Premiership match against Hibernian on Wednesday, according to Brendan Rodgers.

“He’s actually in a better place than when he left because he was still trying to get up to speed,” said Rodgers.

“He has gone away. Trained. He has played some games. I spoke to him when he did come back and he feels ready to start if we need him.”

Celtic’s offensive
This season, the forward line has not been reliable, and Rodgers’ inability to select a stable lineup has contributed to this.

Either Mikey Johnston and other players weren’t willing to take a chance and were loaned out, or Liel Abada is out with an injury and Maeda is heading to the Asian Cup.
