Following his score at Ibrox, Kris Boyd expressed his surprise that neither

Rangers nor Celtic attempted to buy Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski

during the January transfer window.

The former Rangers player indicated money might have stood

in the way of both Old Firm sides’ pursuit of this attacker,

claiming he is precisely the kind of player they need and

that he can score against any team in the league.

When the summer transfer market opens, Joe Lewis, the former goalkeeper for Aberdeen,

estimated that it would cost about £8 million plus add-ons to get the striker out of Pittodrie.

Boyd said, “I’m surprised,” during a live speech on Sky Sports on February 6 at 22:14.

It’s surprising that none of the Celtics or Rangers selected him.

I believe the explanation has to do with money. Although Rangers

clearly spent a lot of money on elite players in the summer,

there may still be questions because things didn’t exactly work out.

“Dessers, Lambers has moved on. There were rumors in January that someone

might have been interested; there could have been a chance.

Had he stayed put, they could have found someone else.

“If you look at Aberdeen, you would think that they would go to your lower-tier teams,

like Ross County, and score goals against them. You could say that’s

what you’d like in a Rangers and Celtics team.”
